The Write Choice Network team has worked to develop the capacity of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) around the nation for more than 20 years securing more than $200 million for the provision of safety-net primary care, behavioral, substance abuse, pharmacy, and chronic disease promotion/health education services to low-income, un/underinsured, and vulnerable populations. Over the last four decades, health centers have established a tradition of providing care for people underserved by America’s health care system regardless of their ability to pay: specifically the poor, uninsured, homeless, minorities, migrant and seasonal farmworkers, public housing residents, and people with limited English proficiency.
In the mid-1970’s, Congress permanently authorized Sections 329 and 330 of the Public Health Service Act to expand community health centers in four core programs (community, migrant, homeless, and public housing). Today, more than 1,000 health centers operate 6,000 service delivery sites across the U.S. Since 2000, federal investments in health centers have nearly doubled to more than $2 billion to support 1,200 new or expanded health centers.
We are able to assist health centers secure highly competitive funding through the Health Resources Services Administration by preparing grant applications for New Access Points, Expanded Oral/Medical/Behavioral Health Capacity, Health Care for the Homeless, Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker, Public Housing, Enabling Services, Health Information Technology, and Facility funding. Since HRSA funding only accounts for approximately 20% of a health centers budget, we assist in identifying and responding to County Indigent, Maternal and Child Health, Family Planning, Breast & Cervical Cancer, Rural Primary Health Care, National and State Health Service Corps, and foundation funding opportunities.
In the past 2 years, the Write Choice Network has successfully secured 100% of competitive federal grants written on behalf of Community Health Centers. Please contact us for an initial assessment to see how we can help you build a sustainable funding base.
